Booking terms and conditions
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to group tours sold by Worldway Travel Limited (company number 866186), 14C/155 Queen Street, Auckland 1010 ("Worldway Travel"). They form part of the contract between Worldway Travel and every traveller named on a booking.
The trip page, the booking confirmation and these terms together set out what is included in the price. Where the booking confirmation differs from these terms, the booking confirmation applies.
2. Booking requests and confirmation
- Submitting a booking request on worldway.co.nz does not confirm a place on a departure. A specialist contacts the lead traveller, normally within one business day, to confirm availability and the final price.
- A booking is confirmed when Worldway Travel issues a written booking confirmation and receives the deposit or full payment required for that trip.
- The lead traveller must be at least 18 years old and accepts these terms on behalf of everyone named on the booking.
3. Prices
- Prices are per person in New Zealand dollars, based on two people sharing a room, and include return economy flights from Auckland unless stated otherwise.
- Domestic flights from other New Zealand cities, single rooms and optional activities are charged in addition.
- Airfares include taxes and fuel surcharges at the time of pricing. If an airline or government increases these charges before tickets are issued, the difference may be passed on, and the traveller is notified before any additional payment is due.
4. Payment
- Each trip page shows whether the trip requires a deposit or full payment at the time of booking.
- Where a deposit applies, the balance is due by the date shown in the booking confirmation. If the balance is not received by that date, Worldway Travel may cancel the booking and apply the cancellation charges in section 6.
- Payment can be made by bank transfer to Worldway Travel. Any card payment surcharge is shown before payment.
5. Changes by the traveller
Requests to change a confirmed booking, such as a different departure date, should be made in writing. Changes are subject to availability and may incur airline and supplier charges, which are confirmed before the change is made.
6. Cancellation by the traveller
Cancellations must be made in writing to the specialist handling the booking. The cancellation charges for each trip are listed in the booking confirmation and increase as the departure date approaches, because airline tickets, hotels and ground services are committed in advance.
Comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation is required and may reimburse cancellation charges, depending on the reason for cancelling.
7. Changes and cancellation by Worldway Travel
- Itineraries may change because of weather, flight schedules, local conditions or decisions by authorities. Where a change is significant, Worldway Travel offers a comparable alternative or a refund for the affected services.
- Each departure has a minimum number of travellers. If a departure does not reach the minimum, Worldway Travel may cancel it no later than the date stated in the booking confirmation and offer another departure or a full refund of the money paid.
8. Passports, entry and health
- Every traveller is responsible for holding a passport valid for at least six months after the return date, and for meeting the entry requirements of China and any transit country.
- Entry rules for New Zealand passport holders are confirmed before departure. Travellers holding other passports should tell their specialist at the time of booking.
- Some itineraries include destinations at high altitude. Travellers with medical conditions should seek medical advice before booking and inform their specialist.
9. Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, cancellation and personal belongings is a condition of joining a group tour.
10. Responsibility
Worldway Travel arranges trips through airlines, hotels, transport companies and local operators. Worldway Travel takes reasonable care in selecting these providers. Nothing in these terms limits the rights travellers have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
